#11: Durian Strudel

I am a total DURIAN FREAK.

During durian seasons, my house will reek of the smell of durian and there will perpetually be a tub of durian in my fridge.

In baking, durian is definitely a good buddy too. Durian puff, durian mousse cake so on and so for.. The thought of it just makes me drool!

And to add on, my boyfriend is also a big fan of durian. Hence once in a while, I will like to whip up something easy but nice for both of us!

DURIAN STRUDEL IS DEFINITELY THE BEST CHOICE! I just used three pieces of puff pastry dough (baked) and my ready made durian filling. I love to have a tub of durian filling in the freezer, when you want to use it just de-froze for sometime then you can use it!

Oh anyway, to make durian filling, just double boil the durian flesh over the double boiler until slightly soft, you can add some sugar to make the durian filling on the sweeter side!

Place alot of durian filling in between each layer of puff pastry then you are good to go!

Market:/

I made a visit to the market today to get the ingredients for the Tonkatsu Soup.

Then I realised, I really don't like the market, despite the fact that I know that the stuff sold there will be cheaper than if I buy all the ingredients from NTUC or Cold Storage.

However, the smell of the place really, ermmm, I can't describe it:/

On Saturday. I will be cooking Tonkatsu Soup!! EXCITED! ^^

#10: Designed Cakes

Plain cakes are never preferred over the design cakes. For the two cakes below, I did one for my uncle who is a liverpool fan and did one for my boyfriend who is a chelsea fan.

I used compound chocolate and trace over the design on a plastic sheet then transfer it onto the cake:)

To be honest, I am pretty proud of it!

Chelsea Cake

Liverpool Cake

Sorry, totally dislike or rather hate Man Utd. So I am not planning to make any of their cakes:)

I am hoping to be making bread and Tonkatsu Ramen during the weekends:)

#9: Over the rainbow (cake)

Nope I have not disappeared.

Because of prior commitments and some personal reasons, I did shut down the blog for a period. And that including blocking all the previous entries.

However, the love for baking is a permanent and irresistible passion!

Today I am blogging about rainbow cakes. Ever since I entered university, there is this craziness for rainbow cakes. So here i go!

Rainbow cakes are actually just normal sponge cake with all the different colourings. (and i really mean alot of colouring)

then we have the uncoated version where i just finish baking them and stacked them on top of one another

and before the cakes turn out to be something as above, we have the batter

and of course, we couldn't get over the rainbow thingy, and we continued with RAINBOW CHEESECAKE (this variation of cheesecake really taste good! it has an ice-cream feeling to it:)
YUM YUM! :P

thats all! I will be back with more, i promise:)
